We have been asked to share with our members that there have been increased concerns from local airlines operating on CEN9 (Back Bay and East Bay/Houseboat Bay).
Some air operators have noticed a general lack of knowledge that this area is an active water aerodrome, and would like to share a reminder that boaters should operate with caution and be aware of incoming and outgoing air traffic. Concerns have grown over the last few years with the increase in boat traffic and with lower water levels.
Watch for further information from the Government of the Northwest Territories as they will be working to increase awareness of the active water aerodrome.
