Dear Members,

I am very excited to introduce the newest Members of the NWTT's Board of Directors: James McPherson and Taig Connel.

James McPherson will be rejoining our board as the Sahtu Secretariat representativeJames is Métis and hails from Tųlı́t'ą, NWT. He has a vast knowledge of the land that comes only from a lifetime of experience. As a young child, he spent most of his time outside, up and down the Great Bear River and the Keele River every chance he got. Learning from the Elders, he acquired a wealth of knowledge from traditions and culture, carried on from thousands of years. If you have any questions about the area, he's definitely your guy! Not to mention the fact that he’s also pretty darn charming. He currently resides in Norman Wells with his spouse, and now business partner, Jennie. If you would like to contact James directly, please email him at james@sahtuadventures.ca

Taig Connel is joining our board as the Gwich’in Tribal Council representative. With a passion for meeting new people and a deep understanding for tourism development in the Northwest Territories, Taig is a seasoned veteran from Fort McPherson, NWT with extensive experience in the field of tourism. With a career spanning over 30 years, he played a pivotal role in shaping the tourism landscape in his community. Throughout his career, Taig has demonstrated a keen eye for emerging tourism trends and unique opportunities as they relate to tourism development. He has an unwavering commitment to delivering and supporting positive experiences to all visitors to his region. He has worked for many years with local organizations to provide valuable insights and guidance that help drive growth and tourism innovation. If you wish to connect with Taig, you can do so by emailing him at tconnel2002@yahoo.ca.

We are very happy to welcome James and Taig to the NWTT Board of Directors and look forward to working with them on behalf of our members and the NWT tourism industry.
